Why?
Why do fiscals years begin in July. The ball starts to roll fast in August and the the whole world is at your door by September? To many questions. Maybe another Banana Rum and Strawberry/banana nectar drink is called for.
What a way to start a post .... too many questions and alcohol.
Work... I don't know where to start. New hires? New Accounts? Budgets? Inter office battles?
All I know is that I'm taking DIVA to the top. We are almost there... I can taste it. I'm willing to work with everyone. I'm willing to share the light to get the department ahead. It is my department after all. I started today thinking "Positive... positive". We made a pact in Atlanta. stay positive. One thing... three of the five new hires are Latinos. All three speak a lot or at least some Spanish. This will help with our new target population. At least now, when the "Latino" prospective is needed all eyes won't be on me. "We" will be the eyes looking at everyone else.
My mind just went blank... so enough about work.
Yesterday my mom came by for lunch and informed me that the man who crashed into and killed my step grandpa had his second hearing in court.
The night before my husband and I took our dogs out for a moonlit walk. When then came home and played Uno. He won... 5 times!!! Oh well, I'm still the scrabble champ. I had to unwind from work.
Good news... my tia is not expecting another baby. Another family member is.
The break down with out divulging to much;
1. The baby's mother is clinically depressed
2. They have only known each other for three months
3. They are two months pregnant
4. My Tia knows nothing of the family neither does her kid because they have only been together 3 months.
5. My brother who works as a producer for Court TV, was able to pull info about the family so at least we know something.

Friday...
Friday is supposed to be date night. So I'm making homemade cookies. These cookies have gone from calorie splurge to comfort food. I was on and off the computer most of the day. Thank goodness that's not all my job entails. I then left a little early and went over to my grandmother's in what many call the "west side"... I call it "Mt. Vernon". My tia was there and wanted to give me some photos to scan of my cousin. She wants me to put together a PowerPoint for her graduation party. She graduated in June from High School and Community College at the same time. The only thing is that the party is in the end of September. So there I am, sitting in my grandmothers little house. The one she was born in. The house my Great Grandmother died in. The house that I played in and explored. It's warm inside. No air conditioning. It's a "poor man's" Victorian. Preserved in history. The windows are open and you can smell the tortillas and Chile Verde coming down wind from the restaurants on Mt.Vernon. My grandfather is at the park two blocks away playing dominoes with the other Mexicano war veterans. As I look through the pictures my tia brought I notice an ultra sound on the fridge. Who could it belong to? One of the cousins? I pretend to pay no mind to it. Then as I'm ready to go my tia says the magic words.... "I need to tell you something". I think to myself, "don't be pregnant". She already has 5 kids ranging from 26 down to 8 years of age. Well since my mom reads my blog I will leave it at that. My tia is going to visit my parents on Sunday to tell them what's going on.
I then came home and I got a phone call. My mom needed me to get my dad drive him to the Kaiser clinic to get her and take her to Kaiser hospital. She has had problems with her intestines and breaking down food. They wanted a CT scan of her right away. So we drop him off, he drives off with mom and we go pick up dinner for my little brother, per mothers orders. Always thinking of others. We waited until 9:30 for the news... mind you her sister just fought off stomach cancer through surgery. The scan revealed that she was 100% cancer/tumor free. She re hurt her sciatic nerve and was a little dehydrated. Thank God. She just has to take it easy and not carry her vacuum cleaner upstairs.
I also called M and M. It's their anniversary. She called and thanked us for remembering. It turns out, us along with her co workers, were the only ones to remember.
So here I am... making cookies, my husband watching Mi Familia and me... thinking about my own family.

I forgot to mention...
On Saturday morning I grabbed a cup of coffee and sat at my computer. My husband grabbed his cup and sat at his computer. I spun around on my office chair and looked at him. He noticed and asked what was wrong. "An interruption" i spurted out. " What" he replied. I explained that I felt that there was going to be an interruption that day. We were scheduled to have dinner at my parents house. My brothers were going to be there. The day went on, my mother and I went to shopping, I picked up some California Rolls for appetizers and we went home. Dinner rolled around and then the phone rang. My mother told me her friend Ara was stopping by for dinner.
Background information on Ara... She worked with my mom, for years and one day my mother was talking about my day and ARA asked what his name was. Like my mother, we refer to our husbands as "my husband" when we talk to others. Long story short Ara knows my dad. He used to date Ara's sister back in the day and her family knows my dad's family. There is so much to this woman, like the cult she was in, the bad divorce, the lost job, the family issues, the women that fell in love with her and stalked her. Ara deserves a blog just dedicated to her.
LOL... this post is exactly what I meant by interruption. It's all her. Dinner, we did not sit together as a family. Ara sat with my parents on one table out on the patio and we sat on another. Just thought I write about it. I'm documenting these "newsflashes".

Monday
My boss gave me and others in my department the day off. The painters and decorator came in late and needed to get to work in our offices. So we packed up what little we had out and left. I ran a few in office errands, called my husband and went to an early lunch with him. We decided to go shopping and pick up some groceries. I bought some paint so I can finish a piece I'm working on. I also purchased a new photo album for this year. I'm 8 months behind in my scrap booking. I have photos from Jan. through April printed out. I'll catch up. We have some big accounts coming up this fall and I'll need the painting and scrap booking to de-stress.
My husband I had I came home and we took advantage of the time. He trimmed four shrubs around the house and I cleaned... I mean CLEANED out our office. 1000% better. Time well spent. As a reward we BBQ each of us a specialty hamburger and kabobs of green onion, yellow squash, Roma tomatoes from our garden and yellow bell peppers. YUMMY! We topped it off with strawberries and blue berries mixed with a little sugar on pound cake. (one burger instead of two each, veggies instead of fries, berries instead of cake/ice cream). We even were daring enough to make some drinks. Brandy and Limeade and I had a blue Margarita... so much for healthy eating....the drinks kinda countered that. Over all we had a great day. Thank goodness I was kicked out of my office. It was so worth it. I loved spending that time being productive at home and with my husband.
I have to wake up early tomorrow and take in Kahva for her spay appt., run over to get a TB test (work related), see if the my office needs to be put back together, get paperwork done, pick up the puppy, and make dinner, and then run off to UCR for a meeting about my Masters. Sigh. Things are back to normal.
Maybe I'll wait on the TB test.
