My Christmas and Birthday Gift
My husband saved up some money to buy me the best Christmas/Birthday gift... a new bed. We have been together 11 years and have had the same bed, that he brought into the relationship. For four of those years we were poor Undergraduate/Graduate students, then we turned into "married time to pay the student loans and bills" type of couple. So the man I met in a Chicano Studies class... has now bought us our first "New" bed.
The only thing I will miss about our old bed is that one night he came home late from band practice and was kneeling next to the bed ... he woke me up.... and he asked me to marry him .
He was never at practice that day... he was out with his guitarist/best friend shopping for a ring... I had no idea.
On the road again
We went out for some last minute shopping.
It was cold and we ducked into the antique store. It's three levels and from the bottom level came a yummy smell. They have a little cafe called "Phood Cafe". It's always closed when we go antiquating, however today it was open. I had a cheese sandwich with tomato soup and shared a Red Velvet cupcake with my husband. Simple yet filling.
We then took a walk around our favorite part of the city, the Mission Inn area. Everything seems to be in full swing.
They are remodeling the old theater. I can't wait till it reopens. Up above, a snowman hanging out.
The reflection of across the street in a dirty old window.
It's amazing what you'll see if you just look up.
