Outside - Today

After you have exhausted what there is
is in business, politics, conviviality, and so on

- have found that none of these finally satisfy, or permanently wear
- what remains? Nature remains.

Walt Whitman

US poet (1819 - 1892)

Maiz

Maiz died in her sleep early this morning, before dawn.
The Rottie was barking at her head.
My husband went out to check on them and informed me that Maize had passed away.
The Rottie wanted us to know.
I told Maiz she could go... finally that dog obeyed a command.

Maiz

I said good bye to my dog...just in case. My Bouvier des Flanders is dying. She is at the "time limit" for Bouviers. We are going to have her put down this summer. She's not in pain, however I want to put her down before she feels any pain. I love her soooo much. I told her good bye tonight. I told her that the Rottie would take care of me and that I was fine in letting her go. I told her I loved her and that I wanted her to know I appreciated her very much. She was a good dog. Who knows, by some miracle, she'll be rejuvenate and running around tomorrow. If not. I have made peace with her.

Time well spent?
