It's always Sunday even when it is Sunday
My Husband and I always say it's Sunday when the day is clam and slow. With that said... next week is packed. Not in an "oh my I'm so overwhelmed" packed, but a it's about time I took some me time. May/June was crazy! I thought I was going to pull a Mariah Carey during her Glitter release. I'm going out to for shushi in Riverside with some friends on Monday, one of them being the "Ultimate Chick" whom blames me for her blogging addiction and then on Tuesday I made time for a massage with a wonderful friend of mine and a small lunch. Wednesday... who knows and Thursday.... shopping for Friday of course. Saturday we have a party to attend in Redlands ... a good old BBQ back yard party. This should be interesting since the conversations are about music, economics, historical wonder from the area, Literature and children... my part in the last topic is as follows. "So when are you going to have a baby?" "Don't you want one". "Is it time yet"?My replay is ... oh look your kid is hungry... ummm you child is crying... you kid is going towards the pool.... what are they eating off the floor.... distract and run. Over all this will be a great week.
We wanted to go to Cabo San Lucas this vacay or down to San Ignacio to see the cave art... however we are opting for a Museum Summer to save money because we have decided to go to New York next year and Merida, Yucatan, Mexico... so less time going out and a little more time blogging, board games and gardening... the "free-er" things in life.
So we left town with M&M
As we drove towards Calico and Newberry Springs we all saw this sign. "hite" beer. Almost at the same time we all said (in some degree) what is that? We joked about it all the way to Vegas.
We checked into our hotel and then low and behold as I looked out the window, there was a fire. Not what I wanted to see as soon as we got there.

They were worth the walk. We returned to the hotel and had some fun.

We slept in extremely late and took our time checking out. We then went to the cafe for breakfast. I had banana and almond pancakes. Delicious.
This was a nice change from our usual routine. It was very relaxing and fun. The food was fantastic... I think I gained some of the weight back from my "stomach flu diet". Time to go running. Goal is to go somewhere every three weeks this summer. Business is slow and it's time for me to take vacay time.
Back to normal
I think I'm back to normal. I came down with the stomach flu on June 10th. I did not get better till June 18th. I only missed one day of work. We had so much going on I could not afford to miss or else deadlines would be missed. Some days I would just finish the project or get enough of it started that I could explain the rest to my team mates and they were able to take it and run. Overall the experience was horrible. Fevers, chills... there came a point where I had nothing (not by choice) in my stomach for almost two days. Horrible. Water, yogurt, bananas, apples and bread where the only things on my menu. Upside... great way to start a summer diet... joking.... but not really. On the 19th I had "real" food. Oh my it was great. I jumped in feet first. I had a Red Robin A-1 Peppercorn, with some pink, hamburger. YUM! However this is all I ate all day. I had lots of water. My poor tummy had shrunken. Mmmmmm... peppercorn.....I went to Universal Studios with some clients on Saturday. Now why did the company have to send us on one of the hottest days? WHY? Well with lots of sun screen, frozen water bottles in my backpack and sun glasses we did it. I went on the Simpson's ride. I have been to Universal every year for the last 6 years for work. So this was a treat, to go the Simpson's ride because it was new and I had not been on it before. I actually was impressed by it. It was as the kids say..."Sick".
Today ... laid around, made fresh watermelon margaritas and stuffed herb BBQ Chicken. A well deserved day of rest. My husband picked up a watermelon and I scooped out all the yummy insides. I then placed the juicy pieces in a blender and liquefied them. Then I poured then contents into silicone cupcake trays to ice up. I then popped out the icy mix into Margarita glasses and splashed in some Corazon Tequila. Perfect summer drink. (I did chores too... I'm not that "Queen of Sheba - y")

My father had me use this poem for an assignment in middle school. He had my brother use it and my youngest as well. I thank him for it. I learned at a young age I can create what I read. I can use alternative works in my education. My teachers never questioned it as long as I full filled the assignment requirements. I love this body of work.
