My House, in the middle of the street
My house, or better yet my street has a history of drama. After My husband and I had brunch, we went to the animal shelter to look at dogs and puppies. On the way home there was a freight train stopped at a rail crossing. We had two options, wait or backtrack and go around four blocks and up 7 to get to our house that is located on the other side of the tracks four houses down. We waited. As we waited I noticed a car driving on the dirt (off the street) and it looked as if it was going to attempt to go around the rear of the train. The train had to move forward four rail cars and it would have cleared the crossing. This vehicle was impatient and thought they would go "off road". We were tried of waiting and went around to get to our house. As we drew near our home there was the vehicle, stuck. The freight train began to move and traffic flowed through. Many good Samaritan were trying to pull the Blazer off of the tracks. I called 911 and told the police what I saw. They said that they were on their way.
Suddenly that all too familiar horn began to sound. The Metrolink, a commuter train was approaching. I called 911 again. I told the dispatcher that the train was coming, at the same time people where yelling, women screaming and the men began to push and pull and then suddenly the train appeared....and stopped... 100 feet from the vehicle. The 911 dispatcher asked what was going on... I told her the train stopped, the car was moved and the conductor was hanging out the door.
As fast as it started it was over. Everyone continued on their way and just like that it was back to normal. As my husband and I were making our way into our home the cop showed up. I told him what had happened and asked if he needed anything else, and he said no.
A little late man.

I started a painting aroud Christams time, yet I have not returned to it. I think work has been draining the hell out of me. In order to "de-stress" I have scrapped booked. However on that note I'm still scrapping July and we are in the last days of February.
Friday
A long week has come to pass. It started out with a birthday party and has ended with a NJHS ceremony. I love my husband. That just came to mind. I don't think I tell him enough. My newly married cousin came to the party with her new husband. Sigh. It was a great party. It has rained so much here these last few days the party was held indoors... at my parents house. Note to self, it is dangerous to sit my bestfriend, my husband and my brother together. By the time the party was over I came to the realization that my family is perfect. Perfect in the sense that they love, respect and are always there for one another. Note to reader, family= mom, dad, brothers and husband. They are the greatest. I am grateful in all that my parents have instilled in me. I am grateful for the undefined love my husband has for me and I am grateful to have two brothers that are so funny that they never fail to bring a smile to my face.
Back to the party, my cousin is growing up so fast. It was her 16th birthday party. She also had her "boyfriend" there. I think he scares my uncle. He looks like a typical Chicano. He was very well mannered, spoke clearly and seemed like a true up- in -coming intellectual. He reminded me of my dad and husband. I hope she sticks with him... at least till college. Then it all about the books, not the boys.
Long week, must sleep.
Friends
My husband and I went out with some friends yesterday. It was fun. We went to a shopping center called Victoria Gardens. It's a European style town/shopping center. They are great people. Younger then my husband and I. They remind me of a couple we used to hang with. These are times I miss Juan and Jenn. That's all for tonight. Happy Valentines.
In the beginning God created...
Gosh, were do I start? I finished my BA in 2001, by teaching credential in 2003 & 1/2, and have yet to go back for a MA. Time is ticking and we cant afford to get another pet. My husband and I live on a small ranch. We tend to take in the homeless... pets. SO in total we have 9 pets. I see them as therapy, my husband sees them as something he never had ( he had a gold fish), everyone else sees them as our solution to the baby itch. SO I go along and agree with them all.
I have always had pets. I grew up with a pony, a horse, ducks, chickens, a goat, rabbits, dogs, cats, fish, a hamster, and peacocks. So why change as I age... right?
